Forgiveness

A Prayer for Forgiveness and a Fresh Start

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert”Isaiah 43:19

Father, I am standing at the edge of something new, but I keep dragging the old version of myself behind me, the failures and the shame that whisper I will only repeat them.

I confess I have let my past define what I believe I deserve. I have read my own story as if the ending were already written in my worst moments.

But I came here to lay that down. Forgive what I did back there, the choices that still make me wince, and let them stop dictating who I get to become.

You said You are doing a new thing, that You make rivers run through the wastelands of a life. Do that in me. Let what felt like ruin become the ground where something fresh grows.

Help me walk forward without checking over my shoulder. Give me courage to believe that mercy is not a one-time gift but a daily floor under my feet.

I let go of who I was and trust You with who I am becoming. Thank You that with You, every morning is a clean page. Begin it with me. Amen.

Amen.

Your past is forgiven, not your future. God writes the next page with you, not against you.
