A Prayer to Stop Replaying the Hurt

“We take every thought captive to obey Christ”2 Corinthians 10:5

Father, my mind will not stop. The scene plays on a loop, the words they said, the look on their face, my own response I keep rewriting. I am exhausted from living the same wound over and over.

I confess I have fed this. Each time I replay it, I add fuel, sharpening my case, deepening the groove, until the memory feels more vivid than my actual life today.

I want quiet in my head again. So I bring You the reel I cannot seem to stop, the looping ache that follows me into sleep and ambushes me at red lights and in the shower.

Your Word tells me to take every thought captive, to fix my mind on what is true and good instead of letting it run wild. I cannot do that alone, but with You I can interrupt the loop.

Every time the memory starts, help me hand it back to You instead of pressing play again.

I surrender the replay. Trade the loop for Your peace, and give my tired mind rest at last. Quiet me, and let me sleep. Amen.

Amen.

Every time the memory replays, you can hand it back to God instead of pressing play.
