A Prayer for Anxiety Before a Big Event

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”Philippians 4:13

Lord, the big day is almost here and the nerves have taken over. My thoughts keep spinning through everything that could go wrong, every way I might stumble, freeze, or fall short in front of everyone watching. My stomach is in knots and I have barely slept.

I confess I have made this moment carry the weight of my whole worth, as if one performance could prove or ruin who I am. The pressure I have piled on myself is crushing the joy out of it.

So I bring this knotted, sleepless stomach to You. You are not anxious about how this goes. You have walked me through hard things before, and You will be with me whether this soars or stumbles.

Steady my hands and my voice. Help me prepare what I can, then release the rest. Let me show up present instead of paralyzed, doing my honest best without rehearsing failure on a loop.

You said that I can do all things through the One who strengthens me, not in my own borrowed courage but in Yours. Let that strength carry me onto that stage, that room, that moment.

I place this event and my fear of it into Your hands. Whatever happens, I am Yours and I am enough. Go before me, walk in with me, and let me look back grateful instead of ashamed. Amen.

Amen.

Prepare what you can, then walk in present. The moment does not define you.
