A Prayer for Faith Over Fear
Father, fear has its hands around my chest tonight. I can feel it in the tightness of my breath, in the way my thoughts keep racing toward the worst thing before it has even happened.
I confess I have been feeding the fear, replaying it, rehearsing disasters as if worrying could somehow keep them away. All it has done is steal my peace.
So I bring the fear to You, where it shrinks to its true size. You are bigger than the thing I am afraid of, and You are already standing in the future I dread.
Trade my fear for faith tonight. Where panic says everything is out of control, let Your Spirit remind me Whose hands actually hold it.
You told me that You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. So this fear is not from You, and I do not have to keep it.
I hand it over, Lord, breath by breath. Loosen its grip, steady my heart, and let faith fill the space the fear leaves behind. Amen.
Amen.
The fear is real, but it is not from Him, and you do not have to keep it.
