A Prayer for Faith When God Feels Silent
Father, I have been listening for You, and all I hear is quiet. I have prayed and waited and strained toward some sign, and the silence stretches longer than I know how to bear.
I confess the silence makes me wonder if I did something wrong, if You have turned away, if my voice is reaching anyone at all.
But I remember that silence is not the same as absence. A father does not leave the room just because he stops speaking. So I choose to believe You are still here, near as breath, even when I cannot hear You.
Give me the faith to keep showing up to the quiet, to keep praying into what feels like an empty sky, trusting that You are listening even when You do not answer.
You said You would never leave me nor forsake me, and You have not taken that promise back just because the room went still.
So I will wait in the silence without running from it. Let my trust speak in the place where I cannot hear Your voice, and I will keep my eyes on the door, certain You will come. Amen.
Amen.
Silence is not absence. He is in the room even when He is quiet.
