A Prayer for Faith to Trust God's Plan

Father, my life has not gone the way I planned, and I am sitting in the gap between what I expected and what is. The detours and closed doors have left me unsure of where any of this is heading.

I confess I have wanted to hold the pen myself, to write the story the way I think it should go, and I have been frustrated every time Yours did not match mine.

But I am learning that my view is small. I see one frame, and You see the whole picture, the way each piece fits something I cannot yet make out.

Give me faith to trust the parts I do not understand. Help me believe that even the disappointments are folded into something good, that nothing in my life is wasted in Your hands.

You said You know the plans You have for me, plans for good and not for harm, to give me a future and a hope.

So I loosen my grip on my own blueprint. Lead me down the road I would not have chosen, and let me trust that You have always known the way home. Amen.
