A Prayer for Faith Through Trials
Father, I am in the middle of something hard, and I do not understand why You have allowed it. The trial has tested every part of me, and I am worn thin trying to hold on while it burns.
I confess that my first instinct has been to ask only for escape, to beg You to take this away before it teaches me anything at all.
But I am beginning to sense that You are not absent in this fire, that You are walking through it beside me, refining something that comfort never could.
Give me faith for the furnace. Not just to survive it, but to trust that You are doing a deep work in me that I will one day be grateful for, even if I cannot see it now.
You said that the testing of my faith produces endurance, and that endurance, when it finishes its work, will leave me whole and lacking nothing.
So I will not waste this trial. Hold me steady in the heat, Lord, and let me come out of it purer, stronger, and closer to You than I have ever been. Amen.
Amen.
The fire is not punishment. It is refining you into something whole.
