A Prayer for Faith While Waiting

2 min readPray slowly
“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”Isaiah 40:31

Father, the waiting is harder than I expected. The days pass with no change, and I keep checking for movement that does not come, my hope thinning a little with each empty morning.

I confess I have begun to doubt the waiting itself, wondering if I misheard You, if the thing I am hoping for was ever really coming at all.

But I know that Your timing is not my timing, and that the silence of waiting is not the same as a no. So I bring my restless heart to You and ask You to hold it steady.

Give me faith for the in between, for the long unglamorous middle where nothing seems to be happening. Help me trust that You are working even where I cannot see it.

You said that those who wait on You will renew their strength, that they will rise on wings like eagles and not grow faint. So renew me in this waiting, Lord.

I lay the timeline down. I will keep watch with patience instead of panic, trusting that what You have promised, You are even now quietly bringing to pass. Amen.

Amen.

The middle is not empty. He is working in the part you cannot see.
