A Prayer for Renewed Faith

2 min readPray slowly
“I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.”Ezekiel 36:26

Father, somewhere along the way my faith went stale. It is still here, but it has lost its color, become a habit I keep without the warmth that used to come with it. I miss the way I once loved You.

I confess I have let routine replace relationship. I have prayed without listening, gone through the familiar motions while my heart drifted somewhere far from You.

So I come asking for something fresh. Not a new religion but a renewed heart, the kind that feels You again, that wakes up wanting to know You instead of merely believing You exist.

Pour something new into these dry places. Remind me why I first followed You, and let that first love come alive again, deeper now for everything I have walked through since.

You promised to give me a new heart and put a new spirit within me, to take out the heart of stone and give me one of flesh.

So renew me, Lord. Make my faith green again, tender and growing, and let me fall in love with You all over, as if for the very first time. Amen.

Amen.

He does not just repair an old faith. He makes the heart new.
