A Prayer for Stronger Faith

2 min readPray slowly
“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move.”Matthew 17:20

Father, my faith feels thin today, like a thread I keep checking to see if it has snapped. I believe, but the belief is small, and I am tired of how easily it bends.

I confess I have leaned on my own understanding more than on You. I have measured what is possible by what I can see, and I have let my heart shrink to the size of my fears.

So I come to You, not pretending to be strong, but asking You to make me strong. Take this small faith I hold out to You and grow it past what I can manage on my own.

You said that faith as small as a mustard seed is enough to move what looks immovable. So I do not need a great faith. I need a faith rooted in a great God, and that is who You are.

I surrender my need to feel certain before I will trust. I will trust first and let the certainty follow.

Plant me deep, Lord, where the storms cannot reach my roots, and grow in me a faith that holds even when my feelings do not. Amen.

Amen.

A small faith in a great God is enough to begin.
