A Prayer for the Salvation of My Family

“The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, for all whom the Lord our God will call.”Acts 2:39

Father, I carry the names of the people I love who do not yet know You. We share holidays and history and the same dinner table, but not the same hope, and that distance grieves me more than I say out loud.

I confess I have preached at them when I should have loved them, and stayed silent when I should have spoken. My own faith has looked smaller than my talk about it. Forgive the times my life has made You harder to believe, not easier.

I turn to You, the only One who can open a closed heart. I cannot argue anyone into Your kingdom, but You can draw them with a tenderness no one resists forever.

Move through their days in ways I will never see. Place truth in their path. Wear down the walls. Let my home become a place where they sense You without a single sermon.

Your word promises that this is for them, and their children, and all who are far off, for everyone the Lord our God calls. I hold that promise over my whole family.

I release them into Your patient hands. I trust Your timing over my urgency. Bring my household home to You. Amen.

Amen.

You cannot argue a heart open, but God can draw it with love.
