A Prayer for Patience While I Wait for an Answer
Lord, I have prayed about this and heard nothing back. The silence stretches on, and I keep checking, the way you keep glancing at a phone that will not ring. I asked for guidance and You gave me a waiting room.
I confess the waiting feels like You forgetting me. I want to force an answer just to end the suspense, to make any decision rather than sit in this uncomfortable not-yet.
But maybe the waiting is part of the answer. Maybe You are doing something in the delay that an instant reply would have skipped, growing roots I cannot see, preparing me for what I asked.
So help me wait well, not with clenched teeth but with trust. Keep me from rushing ahead of You just to soothe my own impatience. Let the silence be a place I learn to rest, not just endure.
Your word says those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, mounting up like eagles, that there is a quiet power in not running ahead.
I will wait, Father, and I will trust that Your timing is mercy, not neglect. Answer when it is right, and steady me until then. Amen.
Amen.
The waiting is not wasted. God works in the delay.
