A Prayer for Wisdom in a Family Decision

2 min readPray slowly
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”James 1:5

Father, our family is facing a choice that touches everyone, and I feel the weight of it on my shoulders. Whatever we decide will shape the people I love most, and I am afraid of getting it wrong for them.

I confess that I have let worry do the talking lately. I have been short with the very people I am trying to protect, and I have argued my own opinion harder than I have sought Your will.

I turn to You now, the God who designed family in the first place and who loves each of these people even more than I do.

Give me wisdom that is bigger than my own. Soften the conversations that have grown tense, and help us hear one another instead of just defending our corners. You promised that if any of us lacks wisdom we can ask You, and You give generously without finding fault, so I am asking with open hands.

I surrender my need to be the one with the answer and to control how this turns out. Knit us together in this decision rather than letting it divide us. Lead our whole family toward what is good, and let Your peace be the sign that we are following You. Amen.

Amen.

Wisdom for your family is one honest prayer away.
