A Prayer When Everyone Is Giving Me Advice
God, my head is full of other people's voices. My mother says one thing, my friend says another, the internet says a third, and somewhere in all of it I have completely lost track of what I actually think, or what You might be saying.
I confess I have leaned on the crowd because it felt safer than standing on my own. If enough people agreed, I would not have to take responsibility for the choice. But now I am just paralyzed.
So I step out of the noise for a moment and come to You, the one voice I have been drowning out. Help me weigh the counsel without worshiping it. Some of it is wise. Some is just loud.
Give me the discernment to keep what is good and release the rest without guilt. And remind me that the final answer is not a vote. It is between me and You.
Your word says there is wisdom in many counselors, but it also says I must not lean on my own or anyone's understanding above Yours.
Quiet the committee in my head, Father. Let me hear You over the crowd, and trust the answer when it comes. Amen.
Amen.
Weigh the advice. Worship none of it. The final word is God's.
