A Prayer for Hope When Nothing Is Changing

“Since ancient times no one has heard of any God who acts on behalf of those who wait for him”Isaiah 64:4

Father, I am stuck, and the sameness is wearing me down. I pray, I try, I wait, and the situation sits exactly where it was, unmoved, while the days blur into each other. I am starting to wonder if anything I do makes a difference at all.

I confess the monotony has dulled my hope into something close to resignation. I have stopped expecting movement, and I almost stopped asking for it.

But I bring the stuckness to You, because You work in the unseen places long before anything shows on the surface. What looks like nothing to me may be roots growing in the dark.

Your word says that for those who wait on You, You act on behalf of those who hope in You, and that You are never idle even when I cannot see Your hand. Let that steady me in the stillness.

I release my need for visible proof that things are moving. I trust the work You are doing beneath the surface. Keep my hope alive in the waiting.

Stillness is not the same as abandonment, and Your silence is not Your absence. Move in Your time, Lord, and hold my hope until You do. Amen.

Amen.

What looks like nothing on the surface is often roots growing quietly in the dark.
