A Morning Prayer of Praise

2 min readPray slowly
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord; praise the Lord”Psalm 150:6

Father, before I ask You for a single thing this morning, I just want to tell You who You are. You are good, You are faithful, and You have been carrying me longer than I have known how to thank You.

I confess I usually come to You with my hands out, leading with my needs and my worries, and rarely just lifting my eyes to admire the One who holds it all together. Forgive my short memory.

So this morning I lift my hands instead of my list. I praise You for the breath in my lungs, for mercy I did not earn, for the steady love that has never once let me go even when I wandered.

You said that everything that has breath should praise You, that You are worthy of all glory and honor. So with the breath You gave me, I add my small voice to that great song.

Let praise be the first language of my day and the last thought of my night. Tune my heart to worship before the noise begins. I give You my praise, and I trust You with everything else. Amen.

Amen.

Praise reorders your day by reminding you who is really holding it.
