A Prayer for God's Angels to Watch Over Us

Father, tonight I find myself longing for a protection I cannot see but desperately want to believe is there. The house is quiet, the ones I love are sleeping, and I feel how thin the walls are against all that could come.

I confess I sometimes doubt that the unseen world is truly on our side. The threats feel so present, and Your help can feel so silent. I want to trust that we are watched over even when nothing visible stands guard.

So I turn to You, the Lord of heaven's armies, who commands more help than I could ever imagine. You are not distant from this small house and these fragile lives.

Send Your watchful care over us. Station Your protection at the doors and the windows of our hearts. Let us sleep, and wake, held by hands stronger than our own.

Your word says You will command Your angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways. I take You at Your word tonight.

I lay down the lonely task of standing guard, because I was never meant to carry it alone. We are surrounded by more than we can see. Watch over us, Lord, and let us rest. Amen.
