A Prayer for Protection in a New Place
Father, everything around me is unfamiliar. New streets I do not yet know how to navigate, faces I cannot read, a quiet that feels less like peace and more like being a stranger. I wanted this change, and still my stomach is tight.
I confess the fear underneath the excitement. What if I am not safe here, what if I never belong, what if I made the wrong move. The newness that should feel like a beginning feels, right now, like exposure.
So I turn to You, because You are not new to this place. You were here long before I arrived, and You came with me when I packed everything I own.
Settle me into this unfamiliar ground. Guard me as I learn my way around. Lead me to safe people and trustworthy doors. Make this strange place, in time, begin to feel like home.
Your word reminds me that wherever I go, You go with me, and You will never leave me or forsake me. You are the one constant in all this change.
I let go of the need to have it all figured out by tonight. I am new here, but I am not alone here. Go before me, Lord, and let me feel Your nearness in this new place. Amen.
Amen.
The place is new to you, not to Him.
