A Prayer for Protection Over My Marriage

Father, I love this person beside me, and I have started to feel how much could go wrong. The slow drift of busy seasons, the temptations that find the cracks, the resentments we let harden in silence. I am asking You to guard what we have built.

I confess I have not always protected it well. I have nursed grudges, scrolled past my spouse to a screen, and assumed this love would survive whatever neglect I gave it. I have let small distances grow.

So I place this marriage under Your covering. Defend it from the third things that creep in, from bitterness, from boredom, from the lie that someone else would be easier. Knit us back close where we have come apart.

You said that what You have joined together, no one should tear apart, and I am asking You to be the One who holds us together when we are too tired or too proud to hold ourselves.

Renew the tenderness between us. Make our home a place safe enough to be honest, and let this love be one of the things in my life that the storms do not get to take. Amen.
