Strength

A Prayer for Strength in Hard Times

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”2 Corinthians 12:9

Father, this season has been heavier than I knew I could carry. Some mornings I wake already tired, and the list of what is wrong is longer than the list of what is well. I am here because I have run out of my own strength.

I confess I have been pretending I am fine, smiling through gritted teeth while everything inside me is asking how much longer this will last. I am weary of bracing for the next blow.

So I bring You the real version of me, the one with shaking hands and a tired heart. I am not asking You to explain it all. I am asking You to hold me up while it is hard.

You promised that when I am weak, Your strength is made perfect, and that Your grace is enough for me. So be my strength today, the kind that comes from outside myself.

I lay this hard season down at Your feet, and I trust You to carry what I cannot. Give me strength for the step in front of me, and the faith to take it.

When I look back, let me see that You held me through every hard day, and never once let go. Amen.

Amen.

You do not have to be strong. You only have to lean on the One who is.
