A Prayer for Strength When You Feel Like Quitting

Father, I am standing at the edge of giving up. The thing I started with so much hope has worn me down to nothing, and the finish line is nowhere in sight. Everything in me wants to put it down and walk away.

I confess I am discouraged, and I have started to believe the lie that it will never get better, that the effort is wasted, that I do not have what it takes. The doubt is loud tonight.

So I bring my discouragement to You before I make any decision out of exhaustion. I do not need You to make it easy. I need You to remind me why I began and that I am not alone in it.

Renew the strength I have spent. Lift my eyes past this hard stretch. Give me just enough courage for the next stretch of road, and then enough again for the one after that.

You promised that those who hope in You will renew their strength, that they will run and not grow weary, walk and not faint. Let that be true in me now.

I will not quit today. I will take Your hand and take one more step, and trust You for the rest. Amen.
