A Prayer for Strength When You Feel Overwhelmed

Father, everything is coming at once, and I do not know where to start. The list is longer than the hours, the demands pull me in every direction, and my mind is so full I can barely think straight. I feel like I am drowning.

I confess I have tried to carry it all myself, and the weight has buried me. I keep adding to the pile and never stopping to breathe, and now I am paralyzed by the sheer size of it.

So I stop, right here, and I bring this overwhelming mess to You, the One who is never overwhelmed by anything. I cannot hold all of this, but Your hands are big enough.

Lift me up to a place steadier than where I am standing. Quiet the noise long enough for me to see the next single thing. Take the weight I was never meant to carry alone.

You said that when my heart is overwhelmed, You would lead me to the rock that is higher than I am. Set my feet on that high ground now.

One thing at a time, with Your strength under me, the mountain becomes a set of steps I can climb. Amen.
