A Prayer for a Career Change

2 min readPray slowly
“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”Jeremiah 29:11

Father, I have spent years building a life inside this one field, and now something in me is restless, sure it is time to leave and terrified of what leaving will cost. The stability is real, but so is the quiet ache that I was made for more.

I confess I am afraid of starting over at the bottom, of the months of uncertainty, of the people who will think I am foolish to walk away from something good for something unproven.

So I bring this turning point to You, the One who knit my gifts together for a purpose I am still discovering. If this longing is from You, give me courage. If it is only my own discontent, give me peace where I am.

You said You know the plans You have for me, plans to give me a future and a hope, and that You are doing a new thing even when I cannot yet see the path through the wilderness.

Make the way clear enough to take one real step. Provide the bridge between what I am leaving and what I am walking toward, and walk it beside me. Amen.

Amen.

A new chapter is not a betrayal of the old one. Trust the One writing the story.
