A Prayer for Favor at Work

2 min readPray slowly
“It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.”Psalm 75:7

Father, I have been working hard in the quiet corners where no one seems to notice, staying late, fixing what others miss, and lately I feel invisible, passed over while less careful hands get the credit and the raise.

I confess that envy has crept in, that I have measured myself against coworkers and felt small, and that I have wanted recognition more for my pride than for my good. Show me my own heart honestly.

So I ask You for favor, not the kind I scheme for, but the kind that comes from You and opens the right doors at the right time. Let my work be seen by the people who can act on it. Let my name be spoken in rooms I am not in.

Your word says You crown the humble with favor and that promotion comes not from the east or the west, but from You who lifts one up and sets another down. So I look up instead of sideways.

Establish the work of my hands and let it bear fruit that lasts. Until then, keep me faithful in the unseen places, content to be known fully by You. Amen.

Amen.

The favor that lasts is given, not grabbed. Keep doing good in the quiet.
