A Prayer for Bold Faith
Father, I have been playing my faith small and safe. I hedge my prayers so I will not be disappointed, and I ask for so little that I leave no room for You to surprise me.
I confess that timid faith is just fear wearing a polite mask. I have called it being realistic when really I was protecting myself from believing too much.
So I want to come to You bolder tonight. Not reckless, but brave, the way a child of the King has every right to be when they come to their Father.
Give me the courage to ask for big things, to step toward what You are calling me to even when my knees are shaking, to believe You can do more than I can imagine.
You said I can come to Your throne with confidence, to find mercy and grace right when I need it, holding nothing back.
So I throw off the timidity. Make my faith bold, Lord, the kind that walks out onto the water with eyes fixed on You, certain that the One who calls me will hold me. Amen.
Amen.
You are a child of the King. Stop praying like you are afraid to ask.
