A Prayer for Faith When I Cannot See the Way

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”Psalm 119:105

Father, I have come to a place where the path runs out. I cannot see where to step next, and the fog ahead gives me nothing to plan around, no clear direction to aim my feet.

I confess I have always wanted to see the whole road before I would walk it, to have the map in hand before I would take the first step. That is not how You usually lead.

So I stop straining to see what You have not shown me yet. I bring my blindness to You and ask You to be my eyes, since You can see what I cannot.

Give me faith for one step at a time. Light just enough of the path for the next move, and let me trust You for the part that stays dark a little longer.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, not a floodlight on the whole horizon, but enough glow for the ground right in front of me.

So I will walk by that small light, Lord, one obedient step after another, trusting that You see the way home even when I do not. Amen.

Amen.

He gives light for the next step, not the whole road. That is enough.
