A Prayer for Unwavering Faith
Father, I am tired of how easily I waver. My faith rises when things go well and sinks when they go wrong, tossed back and forth by every change in the weather of my life.
I confess I have built my trust on shifting ground, on circumstances and feelings, and so it shifts right along with them, leaving me unsteady when I most need to stand.
So I ask You to give me a faith that does not move with the wind. Not a faith without storms, but one anchored so deep that the storms cannot drag it loose.
Steady me on the rock that does not shift. Let my trust rest on who You are, which never changes, instead of on what is happening, which always does.
You said the one who comes to You and hears Your words and does them is like a house built on rock, that when the floods came, it did not fall.
So build me on that rock, Lord. Make my faith immovable, planted in the One who is the same yesterday and today and forever, and let me stand through whatever comes. Amen.
Amen.
Build your faith on who He is, not on what is happening. One never changes.
