A Prayer at a Crossroads

2 min readPray slowly
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left”Isaiah 30:21

Lord, I am standing at the fork in the road, and both paths disappear into trees before I can see where they lead. One way feels safe and small. The other feels alive and frightening. I have been standing here so long my legs have gone numb.

I confess I have wanted a sign written across the sky, something so obvious I could not get it wrong, so I would never have to risk being wrong on my own.

But maybe You are asking me to walk with You instead of waiting for You to remove every unknown. Maybe trust looks like the first step, not the full map.

So go with me down whichever road is Yours. If I start the wrong way, turn me. If I hesitate at the right one, give me courage to move.

You promised that when I turn to the right or the left, I would hear Your voice behind me saying, this is the way, walk in it.

I do not need the whole journey lit. I just need You beside me at the crossroads. Choose my road with me, Father, and let me trust the choosing more than the certainty. Amen.

Amen.

God guides those who move, not just those who wait.
