A Prayer for Clarity in Confusion

2 min readPray slowly
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace”1 Corinthians 14:33

God, my thoughts are tangled like wires behind a desk, every cord crossed over another until I cannot trace a single one to its source. I have tried to think my way out and only pulled the knot tighter.

I am embarrassed by how scattered I feel. People come to me for steadiness, and inside I am all static and noise, unable to hear myself think, let alone hear You.

So I stop trying to untangle it all at once. I sit down in the middle of the mess and hand You the wires. You are not the author of confusion. You bring order where I bring chaos.

Quiet the competing voices. Slow my racing mind. Lift the fog one layer at a time until I can see the one true thing I need to see today, and only that.

Your word reminds me that You are not a God of disorder but of peace, that clarity is part of the calm You carry into a room.

I do not need everything to make sense by morning. I just need one clear thread to hold. Hand it to me gently, Lord, and let peace replace the panic. Amen.

Amen.

Clarity rarely comes all at once. Ask God for the next clear thing.
