A Prayer for Direction When I Feel Lost

God, I do not even know how I got here. One ordinary day folded into the next and somewhere along the way I lost the thread. I look up and nothing feels familiar, not even my own life.

I am tired of pretending I have it together. The truth is I feel like a stranger to myself, going through motions I no longer understand, unsure which direction is even forward.

But You are not lost. You know exactly where I am standing, down to the dust on my shoes. You have not misplaced me, even though I have misplaced myself.

So find me here. Not the version of me I wish I were, but this one, blank and unsure. Send one small light, just enough to take the next few steps. I am not asking for the whole road tonight.

You said You would lead the blind by ways they have not known, turning the darkness into light before them. Be that for me now.

I may not know where I am, but I know whose I am. Walk me home slowly, Lord, and let being found by You be enough for today. Amen.
