A Prayer for God to Open the Right Door
Father, I have been knocking on doors for so long that my knuckles are sore and my hope is thin. I have applied, asked, waited, and watched chances close one after another, and I am starting to wonder if You hear me at all.
I confess I have tried to force a few of these doors myself, pushing where there was no opening, mistaking my own striving for Your leading. I am tired of pretending I can engineer my own breakthrough.
So I come to You, the One who holds the keys, who opens what no one can shut and shuts what no one can open. I stop pushing and I start trusting.
Open the door that is truly mine, even if it is not the one I have been fixated on. Give me the courage to walk through it when it swings wide, and the discernment to leave a closed one alone. You set before me an open door that no one can shut, so I wait on You to reveal it.
I surrender my list of how and when. I would rather have the door You choose than the one I forced. Lead me to the threshold You have prepared, and meet me there. Amen.
Amen.
A closed door is often God protecting you from the wrong room.
