A Prayer for Hope in God's Plan
God, nothing about my life right now looks like what I would have planned. The detours, the closed doors, the seasons that made no sense, they leave me wondering whether there is any design behind it or just a string of accidents.
I confess I have wanted to grab the pen and write my own story, certain I knew better than You where the lines should go. My striving has mostly left me anxious and tired.
So I bring my confusion to You, the One who sees the whole tapestry while I only see the tangled threads on the back. You waste nothing. You weave even the painful parts into purpose.
Your word says Your thoughts are higher than mine and Your ways beyond my understanding, like the heavens over the earth. Let that lift me above my need to figure it all out.
I let go of my smaller plan. I trust the larger one I cannot see. Use even my detours, and make them mean something in Your hands.
You have not lost the thread of my life. There is a design I cannot trace yet. Steady my heart to trust Your plan over my own. Amen.
Amen.
From the back, every tapestry looks like a mess; God is working on the side you cannot see.
