A Morning Prayer for a Monday
Lord, it is Monday, and I can already feel the week stretching out long in front of me. The weekend went too fast, the inbox is waiting, and part of me wants to pull the covers back over my head.
I confess I treat Mondays like something to survive rather than something You made. I drag yesterday's tiredness into a brand new week and forget that Your mercies arrived fresh with this sunrise too.
So before the week swallows me, I hand You these first hours. Reset my heart. Take the dread and trade it for a quiet readiness. Help me begin this week leaning on You instead of bracing against it.
You promised that Your compassions are new every morning, that great is Your faithfulness. That promise covers Mondays as surely as any other day, and I am standing on it now.
Walk into this week ahead of me, one day at a time. Let me work it with purpose and not just endurance. I give You this Monday and all that follows it, and I trust You with the whole week. Amen.
Amen.
A new week is not a sentence to endure. It is a mercy to receive.
