A Morning Prayer for Protection Over the Day Ahead

Lord, before I step out the door and into a day I cannot predict, I ask You to go with me. There are roads to travel, people to meet, and unseen things I have no way to prepare for.

I confess I often walk out without a thought toward You, assuming I can handle whatever comes, forgetting how much rests in hands far greater and far surer than my own.

So this morning I ask for Your covering over every hour. Guard my coming and going. Protect my body, my mind, and my heart, and keep harm at a distance from the ones I love too.

You promised that You are my refuge and my fortress, that I can find shelter under Your wings and rest in Your faithfulness as my shield. I take cover there now.

Watch the roads I drive, the words I hear, the choices I make. Keep me safe and keep me yours through it all. I give You this day, and I trust myself fully to Your keeping. Amen.
