A Prayer for Calm in Chaos
Father, my world is loud right now. Demands are coming from every direction, the noise has not stopped all day, and my mind feels like a room where everyone is talking at once. I cannot hear myself think, let alone hear You.
I confess I have matched the chaos instead of resisting it, moving faster, breathing shallower, treating frantic as the only way to keep up. The pace has hollowed me out.
So I stop here, just for a moment, and turn toward You. You are not frantic. You have never once been rushed. Let me borrow Your stillness in the middle of all this motion.
Your Word says, Be still, and know that I am God. So I will be still, even now, even with the noise pressing in, and remember who actually runs this world.
I lay down the lie that everything depends on my hurry. I trust the unhurried God.
Be the calm center I can return to all day long, the quiet eye in my storm, until my pace slows to match the peace of the One I follow. Amen.
Amen.
Stillness is not earned by escaping the noise but by turning toward God within it.
