Peace

A Prayer for Inner Peace

2 min readPray slowly
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.”John 14:27

Father, there is a restlessness inside me that no quiet room seems to reach. Even when everything around me is calm, something within keeps stirring, like waves that will not lie down.

I confess I have gone looking for peace in all the wrong places, in being busy, in being liked, in getting everything just right. None of it stilled the deeper ache. I am tired of searching the surface for something that lives much deeper.

So I come to the only true source of stillness. You made the quiet places in me, and only You can fill them. Reach past my noise to the parts of me I cannot calm on my own, the corners I keep so busy that I never have to feel them.

Jesus, You said You leave Your peace with us, not the fragile kind the world hands out, but a peace that steadies from the inside. Plant that peace in the center of me.

I let go of the striving. I stop performing for a calm I cannot earn.

Be the steady ground beneath my restlessness, the quiet at my core, until being still with You feels like coming home. Amen.

Amen.

True peace is not the absence of noise but the presence of God within it.
