A Prayer for a Financial Miracle

Father, I have done the responsible math and the math says it is impossible, the gap is too wide and the time too short, and I am at the place where only a miracle would close it.

I confess I almost did not pray this, because asking for a miracle feels presumptuous, like I am demanding the impossible of a God who owes me nothing.

But I am out of clever solutions, so I bring You the impossible thing, because You are the God for whom nothing is too hard, the One who multiplied a boy's small lunch until thousands were full.

Do what I cannot. Make a way where I see no way, provide from a source I cannot name, close this gap that all my effort cannot close. I am asking for the thing too big for me.

Your word says that with You all things are possible, even the things that are impossible with people. Let me see that with my own eyes, in my own crisis.

I hand You the impossible and stop trying to be its rescuer. Astonish me, Lord, and let me give You every ounce of the credit. Amen.
