A Prayer for Contentment and Provision
Father, I have enough for today and still I feel restless, scrolling past lives that look easier than mine, measuring my provision against others until what I have starts to feel like nothing.
I confess the discontent is its own kind of poverty. I am surrounded by gifts I stopped noticing, chasing a more that never arrives and never satisfies when it does.
So I come to You, asking not just for more provision but for the deeper thing, a heart that can rest in what is already here, gratitude instead of grasping.
Teach me contentment. Let me hold my needs honestly and still see my blessings clearly. Provide what I truly lack, and heal the lack that no amount of money would ever fill.
Your word says godliness with contentment is great gain, that we brought nothing into this world and can take nothing out. Anchor me in that truth and quiet the hunger for more.
I surrender both my needs and my comparisons to You. Make me genuinely content, rich in what matters, at peace with my portion. Amen.
Amen.
Some of your poverty is not in your account but in your gaze.
