Strength

A Prayer for Strength in the Workplace

2 min readPray slowly
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”Colossians 3:23

Father, I walk into work already braced for it, the pressure that never lets up, the people who drain me, the sense that no matter how much I give it is never quite enough. My shoulders are tight before I sit down.

I confess I have let this place steal my peace. I take the stress home, I rehearse the conflicts at night, and I have wondered if my work even matters in the grand scheme of things.

So I bring this job and these people to You before the day begins. I do not need every problem solved. I need to do my work without losing myself in it.

Give me strength for the difficult tasks and grace for the difficult people. Steady me when I am criticized and keep me honest when it would be easier to cut corners. Let me work as if for You.

You said that whatever I do, I should work at it with all my heart, as working for You and not merely for people. Help me carry that quiet dignity into every hour.

Whatever this day demands, I face it in Your strength, and I leave the rest in Your hands. Amen.

Amen.

Your work matters to God even when it goes unnoticed by everyone else.
