A Prayer Before a Big Presentation

2 min readPray slowly
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind”2 Timothy 1:7

Father, in a little while every eye in that room will be on me, and my heart is already pounding ahead of the moment. I have rehearsed the words, but I cannot rehearse away the fear of forgetting them, of being judged, of falling flat.

I confess I have made this presentation bigger than it is, until it feels like my whole future is balanced on the next twenty minutes. That pressure was never mine to carry, and I have let it steal my sleep.

So I bring this trembling to You right now. You knew every word I would speak before I was born. You are not nervous about this meeting, and You are with me in it.

Quiet the racing in my chest. Give me a clear mind, a steady voice, and the grace to connect with the people in front of me as people, not as a verdict on my worth.

Your word reminds me that You did not give me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Let that settle over me as I stand to speak.

I hand You the result. Whether they applaud or push back, I am still held by You. Walk in with me, and let me speak with peace. Amen.

Amen.

Your worth is not on trial in that room. You are already held.
