A Morning Prayer for a Busy Day with Too Much to Do

2 min readPray slowly
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed, or indeed only one; Mary has chosen what is better”Luke 10:41-42

Lord, the list is already longer than the hours, and I feel the day pressing in before my feet have even touched the floor. There is too much, and I am only one person.

I confess I treat my schedule like proof of my worth, packing it so full there is no room left for You, then wondering why I feel so frantic and so far from peace.

So before I sprint into the rush, I stop here with You. Help me see what truly matters today and let the rest wait. Order my hours the way only You can.

You reminded me that I worry about many things, but only one thing is truly needed, and that the better part is sitting at Your feet. Let me choose that part even in the noise.

Go ahead of me into every meeting, every task, every interruption. Make my steps purposeful instead of scattered. I give You my crowded day, and I trust You to carry me through it unhurried. Amen.

Amen.

A full schedule is not the same as a full life. Choose the one needed thing.
