A Morning Prayer of Gratitude for a New Day

2 min readPray slowly
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it”Psalm 118:24

Father, I woke up, and that alone is a gift I too often skip past. Breath in my lungs, light at the window, another sunrise I did nothing to earn. Thank You for this ordinary miracle.

I confess I am quick to notice what is missing and slow to count what is here. I let small frustrations crowd out the steady kindness You pour into every single day.

So this morning I want to pause and actually see it. The warmth of the bed, the people who love me, the mercy that is somehow new again. Thank You, thank You, thank You.

You told me that this is the day You have made, and that I can rejoice and be glad in it. So I choose gladness, not because everything is perfect, but because You are good.

Tune my heart to gratitude before the day can sour it. Let me notice Your fingerprints on the smallest moments. I give You my thanks, and I receive this day as the gift it is. Amen.

Amen.

Gratitude does not wait for a perfect day. It transforms an ordinary one.
