A Morning Prayer for a Fresh Start

Lord, yesterday did not go the way I hoped. I said things I regret, dropped things I meant to carry, and went to bed feeling like I had failed again. This morning I need a clean slate.

I confess I have been replaying my mistakes on a loop, dragging yesterday's shame into a day that has not even started. I have let the old version of me set the terms for the new one.

So I bring it all to You and ask for the fresh start only You can give. Wash off what clings to me. Let me lay down the regret and pick up the mercy You are holding out.

You promised that You are making all things new, that the old has gone and the new has come. So I step into this day as someone You are still writing, not someone already finished.

Help me leave yesterday where it belongs and walk forward lighter. Give me courage to begin again. I give You my failures, and I receive Your fresh, undeserved beginning. Amen.
