A Morning Prayer for Hope When the Day Feels Heavy
Lord, I woke up under a weight I cannot name, the kind of heaviness that makes the simplest day feel like too much. Getting up was hard, and hope feels like something other people have.
I confess I have started to expect the worst, to brace for disappointment, to let the gray in my chest convince me that nothing is going to get better. The light feels far away.
So I bring this heaviness to You honestly, without dressing it up. I do not have hope in me right now, so I am asking You to be my hope when I cannot manufacture it.
You said You came to bind up the brokenhearted, to give a crown of beauty instead of ashes and gladness instead of mourning. I am holding You to that quiet promise this morning.
Lift just enough of this weight for me to take the next step. Let one small mercy remind me You are still here. I give You my heaviness, and I trust You to carry what I cannot. Amen.
Amen.
On the days you cannot find hope, let Him hold it for you until you can.
