A Prayer for a Peaceful Heart
Father, my heart feels crowded tonight, full of fears and half-finished worries jostling for room. It has been a long time since it felt calm, and I am not even sure I remember how to let it rest.
I confess I have fed the unrest, scrolling for distraction, bracing for bad news, treating my heart like a war room that can never stand down. No wonder it forgot how to be still.
So I open it to You now, all of it, the anxious corners and the tender places I usually keep guarded. You know this heart better than I do, every fear I cannot name and every hope I am afraid to say out loud. Tend it the way only You can.
Your Word says You guard the hearts of those who belong to You, that Your peace stands watch over them. Set that guard over mine, and let nothing slip past You tonight.
I stop trying to manufacture calm. I receive it instead as Your gift.
Make my heart a quiet place where You are welcome to dwell, settled and unhurried, resting in the One who holds it. Amen.
Amen.
A heart kept by God is a heart that can finally rest.
